    Corralillo Winemaker’s Blend 2006

This wine is composed of 67% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 6% Pinot Noir. This blend has a deep red color with intense aromas of cherry marmalade, strawberries, spices, leather and chocolate. In the mouth it illustrates its distinct components: the Merlot contributes red fruits, while the Cabernet Franc provides the spices, soft leathery notes and its full body, the Malbec lends the dried fruits and sweetness and the Pinot Noir intensifies the complexity of the blend. Finally the oak marries perfectly with the wine giving it its great character and elegance.

    Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon

At Bonterra, they passionately believe that organic grapes make better wine. All of the grapes are grown using certified organic practices, such as composting, cover crops, and biodiversity. These organic practices give them grapes that offer a quality of fruit and vibrancy of taste that allow them to create wines that express the purity and intensity of each varietal’s unique character. The product of years of patient refinement, this Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) blends Syrah and Petite Syrah with traces of complementary varietals to expand its flavor and texture.

    Region: Saint Julien, Bordeaux, France
    Pavillon de Poyferré 2004

Pavillon de Poyferré is the second wine of the 2nd Grand Cru Château Léoville Poyferré, sourced from younger vines in the same vineyard as their first wine, a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The château’s first wine garnered widespread acclaim, so the Pavillon also displays many of the same virtues but in a more drink-now style. Look for cassis, toast and raspberry aromas with a fruity, balanced palate.

    Callia Alta Shiraz/Malbec 2008

The summer was rainy and fresh, with less sun, which slowed down ripening and caused a later harvest (closer to the fall), rendering increased polyphenol and aromatic quality for the varietals. The grapes were hand-harvested in March.

70% Shiraz and 30% Malbec. Ripe cherry on the nose. Nice structure and well balanced. Tannins are soft and rounded. This wine is definitely a best buy.
